Our story

Markita has had the unique privilege to teach children from kindergarten through second year graduate students.  As she served in the capacity of a social worker for 10+ years, Markita began to see a growing need amongst the youth in the communities in which she served.  Due to this growing desire to be a supportive resource of the youth, God began to unveil the Lighthouse Empowerment Center.  As Markita shared the vision with Angela, God had placed a very similar program structure on Angela’s heart to execute . . . and the rest is history!  When the vision of our youth enrichment program began to come to life, the goal was hinged on the growth and nurturing of youth through this non-profit organization.
